Midnight Sun Fun Run |

The Midnight Sun Fun Run is an annual event hosted by the Town of Inuvik Recreation Department. Inuvik is in the land of the Midnight Sun, so what better way to experience the 24 hours of daylight then to participate in the only 5km, 10km or ½ marathon run at midnight in the north. The run is held yearly on the Saturday closest to the summer solstice. |

| Canada Day Triathlon |

The Town of Inuvik Recreation Department hosts the Canada Day festivities at Jim Koe Park down town Inuvik on July 1st beginning at 12 noon. The Canada Day Triathlon has been a huge part of the annual event for years. Registration begins at 12 noon with the biking beginning at 1pm followed by swimming and finally the 5 km run. Come out and enjoy the day!

At the Great Northern Arts Festival, we dance to the beat of many drums. The Festival offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience first hand a variety of northern culture.
For 10 days each July, over 60 visual and performing artists gather in Inuvik, NWT to celebrate northern art and culture. Representing communities from across the Arctic, from Greenland to Nunavut to Alaska, the Festival allows the visiting public to participate in events and activities to truly immerse themselves in the northern art experience. |

Bring Your Family, Friends, Co-Workers and Join Us as We cheer on the Olympic Flame!
The Olympic Torch Relay will wind it's way through the streets of Inuvik in the late afternoon and end with an incredible lighting of the cauldron in Chief Jim Koe Park. This fantastic community celebration will include stage performances, drumming & dancing, choirs, the blanket toss, fireworks, and much more.
Immediately following the outdoor component, join us inside the Midnight Sun Complex for a traditional community feast. Here we will share in our "northern hospitality" and partake in traditional games demonstrations.

The Arctic Sun sets over Inuvik on December 5th 2009 and will rise again for the first time after the month of darkness on January 6th.
Join us on Saturday, January 9th for our Annual Sunrise Festival where locals celebrate the return of the sun with a giant bonfire and fireworks and other celebrations throughout the day. |
