Thanks For A Great Show Everyone!

The 2005 Inuvik Petroleum Show celebrated its 5th Anniversary and attracted over 800 participants and visitors, with both the conference and tradeshow exhibition having sold out. The theme for the conference this year was "Roles and Responsibilities with the Mackenzie Gas Project". In addition to the sessions and keynote sessions, a Special Session entitled "Finding Common Ground with the Mackenzie Gas Project" was also included. The tradeshow portion of the show included over 116 companies and drew in over 600 visitors from the public.

The dates for the 2006 Inuvik Petroleum Show are set for June 14 and 15, 2006. Registration packages will be sent out in the mail in February 2006. If you are not already on our mailing list and would like to receive a registration package for the 2006 show, please e-mail your full mailing information to MPerkins@town.inuvik.nt.ca.

Speakers' Notes/Pre-reserve Forms

A huge thank you to everyone that came out to the 5th Annual Inuvik Petroleum Show. The show was a great success and we hope that everyone enjoyed their stay in Inuvik!

All companies who participated in the 2005 tradeshow portion of the Inuvik Petroleum Show have the option of pre-reserving a booth for the 2006 show. All pre-reserve forms must be received by July 15 2005 to guarantee your company a spot in next year's show. Conference Session Change

Please note that a Special Session has been added entitled "Finding Common Ground with the Mackenzie Gas Project." This session will be held on Wednesday June 15 from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM. The session will give participants the opportunity to collectively discuss and confirm progress made on the outstanding issues with the Mackenzie Gas Project.

Putt to win... Great Prizes!

At this year's Petroleum Show, you can take a swing at winning some very big prizes. Courtesy of First Air, the Gwich'in Tribal Council, and the Town of Inuvik, you can putt your way to a new vehicle, a diamond, and many other fabulous prizes including a golf bag, t-shirts, hats, etc. The Putt to Win is a fundraiser for local community organizations. For $5 you will get 5 balls, giving you five chances to putt your way to prizes. The Putt To Win green will be open from 10 AM to 10 PM on Wednesday June 15 and Thursday June 16. So practice your swing and come to the First Air Booth located in the Mackenzie Valley Exhbition area to find out more details on how you can Putt To Win!

Registration

Registration for Conference Delegates, Exhibitors, Speakers, and Media will take place on Tuesday June 14 from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the front foyer of the Midnight Sun Conference Centre, 194 Gwich'in Road (formerly known as Loucheux Road).

Confirmation letters have just gone out in the mail. If there are any changes necessary to your registration or blank name passes to be filled in, please send them to Kelli Sharpe via fax at (867) 777-8619 or via e-mail at ksharpe@town.inuvik.nt.ca. Please submit all changes as soon as possible.

NOTE: Please note that ALL PAYMENTS must be received by no later than May 31, 2005 at 5:00 PM to confirm your registration.

SHIPPING INFORMATION
Exhibition display booths and materials will be received on June 13 and 14. Please arrange your shipping to arrive one of these two days. Please note that booth numbers will be available here as of Monday June 6.

Floor plans will be available here to view the week before the show. Due to the changes that occur at this time, floor plans will not be available until the week of June 6.

IPS Photo Contest

Be sure to send in your pictures for the Inuvik Petroleum Show "Where in the World" Photo Contest to be eligible for some fantastic prizes that will be awarded during the show. Simply submit photos of various locations around the world where you have worn your IPS clothing. Photos will be judged and finalists will be chosen by your fellow IPS participants during an evening reception at the show. Prizes will be given to the most unique entries. Be sure to add a short caption along with your photo. Photos can be submitted via e-mail to mschab@town.inuvik.nt.ca or sent in the mail to:

IPS Pool Party

In celebration of the newly opened Inuvik Family Center, we will be having a pool party exclusively for IPS participants on Wednesday June 15 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. What a great way to unwind after the first day of the conference right before the evening reception! Be sure to pack your swimming gear and enjoy our new facility, complete with waterslide, lazy river, leisure pool, lane swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and squash courts.

IPS Entertainment

A sneak peak of the entertainment lined up for the 2005 IPS…you can expect to see a wide variety of entertainment, ranging from local musicians and performers from the End of the Road Music Festival, to the northern beat of the East Three Reelers and Inuvik Drummers and Dancers, to the toe-tapping, don't stop the dancin' sounds of Udder Maddness.

Additional tickets to both the Wednesday and Thursday evening receptions will be available at the door. Further information will be available at the registration desk in the lobby of the Midnight Sun Conference Center.
