The Convention/Tourism Department would like to wish everyone a happy New Year! 2008 is going to be a great year for tourism in Inuvik. We have many exiting events planned including the 8th annual Inuvik Petroleum Show, the 20th annual Great Northern Arts Festival, the 5th annual End of the Road Music Festival and the Town of Inuvik 50th Anniversary celebrations! The Annual Christmas light up contest was held in December and we would like to congratulate the winners and thank all of those who participated.

The Town of Inuvik would once again like to thank NTPC for their generous sponsorship of this event.
The 21st annual Sunrise Festival was a huge success, with this year’s fireworks show bigger and better than ever. There was a great turnout with many members of the community welcoming the return of the sun. The Town of Inuvik would like to thank all those who contributed to making this year’s festival a success.
The 2008 Inuvik Petroleum Show will be held on June 11th and 12th and we are already receiving numerous inquiries about the show. Registration packages will be sent out in early February and registration will begin then. You can also download registration forms from here. Please register early to avoid disappointment as the trade show area fills up very quickly and has been sold out every year.

The 2008 Inuvik & Beaufort Delta - Attractions & Services Guide will arrive shortly and will be available at local businesses throughout the town. Copies will also be available at the Town Office. The guides are distributed to over 750 locations with 45,000 copies in circulation. Be sure to watch for them!
