UPDATE – DONATIONS FOR AKLAVIK EVACUEES

Hello Aklavik Evacuees and Local Host Friends & Family of Aklavik Residents
As many of you are aware we have been receiving donations at the Midnight Sun Complex for all Aklavik evacuees. We have also been hosting regular drop-in hours in the donation centre located in the Curling Club for those evacuees needing to access basic items of need during their stay in Inuvik.
At this time we are now transitioning into a “high-needs” request only system. Those people from Aklavik still requesting critical supplies for the remainder of the evacuation order such as pampers, UHT milk, toothbrushes, juice, water, etc can now call the designated cell phone at the Midnight Sun Complex at 867.678.5395 Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm and arrange a time to come and pick-up their items while/if supplies are available.
Further, we are extremely grateful for all of the donations, volunteers, and assistance that we have been receiving from local Inuvik residents, businesses, & organizations. We will be acknowledging each of these at a later date, but want to let everyone know that their generosity and willingness to provide supplies in a critical time is greatly appreciated.
We at this time do not currently have any immediate needs or donation requests.
