The Economic Development & Tourism Department at the Town of Inuvik is looking forward to hosting the Shop Local – Inuvik Small Business Passport program as part of National Small Business Week October 17-23. While more details and promotional posters will follow in the coming weeks, we are giving residents and businesses a sneak peak at what to expect.
Thanks to the generous funding support from Innovation, Science, and Economic Development & the NWT Chamber of Commerce we are able to offer some amazing cash, prizes, and incentives for all participants.
PRIZES FOR BUSINESSES
$5000 for Businesses with Store Fronts
$5000 for Businesses that are Service Based (no store front)
All participating businesses with a store front will be entered to win $5000 to go towards visible business improvements, while participating service-based businesses will be entered to win $5000 to go towards the purchase of essential business equipment.
$2500 Bonus Business Package

Residents are encouraged to shop local and support our Inuvik businesses. As an incentive during Small Business Week, residents will be able to collect stamps in the Small Business Passport for the purchases. Those who collect at least 5 stamps but less than 10, will be entered to win a $100 Gift Card. Those who collect at least 10 stamps or more will be entered to win a $500 Gift Card. Those who collect a stamp from every participating business will be entered to win a $2000 Gift Card.
ALL ENTRIES will also have their names entered into the PRIZE PACK DRAWS, including the Outdoor Family Prize Pack, Indoor Family Prize Pack & Creator Prize Pack.
NEW for this year is a YOUTH CATEGORY (Ages 5 to 25) that will include a video contest. We ask local youth to send in a video enjoying a recent purchase at a local business. Each entry must include the words “I Love Inuvik” and everyone must give permission to be included in the video. EVERY ENTRY will receive a $10 Gift Card to Northmart. ALL ENTRIES will be entered to win a NEW IPAD or TABLET.
