Tourism & Events Assistant - TERM

Hiring for 2 Positions

We are looking for an energetic and hard-working local resident of Inuvik to work as our front-line ambassadors in the new Inuvik Welcome Centre as we prepare for a very busy tourism season including many community projects, programs & events.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a very adaptable team player who is also able to take initiative and work diligently on their own
  • Have exceptional customer service with attention to service excellence
  • Have strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, & Excel)
  • Have retail experience including cash handling, inventory, and service transactions
  • Have a strong working knowledge of local Inuvik businesses, tourism operators, and retail outlets for arts, crafts, and gifts.
  • Demonstrate experience working with groups, visitors, community members, vendors, and clients including special events and programs

General Labourers (5 Positions) - TERM

The successful candidates will:

  • Be honest, trustworthy, and dependable
  • Be respectful and possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Be flexible and demonstrate initiative and sound work ethics
  • Have experience in the safe use and handling of light equipment and power hand tools
  • Have a minimum education level of Grade 10

Preference will be given to those candidates that:

  • Have at least three (3) years of applicable construction and/or maintenance experience
  • Have working knowledge of WHMIS
  • Have a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Have a valid Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a Class 5 NT Driver’s License

  • Hold a relevant post-secondary degree, diploma or certifications
  • Have a valid Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a Class 5 NT Driver’s License

The successful candidate will be required to:
