The successful candidate will be required to:  

  • Have a minimum education level of Grade 12
  • Be on call and work rotating shifts during evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years or more of applicable experience in: general construction and maintenance,
  • Have a valid Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a Class 5 NT Driver’s License
  • Have, or be able to obtain a Class 3 Water/Waste Water Certificate
  • Possess a valid Red Seal in the trade of plumbing

Equivalencies recognizing related education and experience may be considered.

The current starting salary is $35.61 per hour (approx. $74,069 per annum) with a Northern Allowance of approximately $13,924 per annum.

HEAD LIFEGUARD/INSTRUCTOR – JAN TO DEC 2019 TERM

The successful candidate will be required to:  

  • Be honest, trustworthy and dependable
  • Be understanding of the northern cultural, rural and political environment
  • Have excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Have at least three (3) years of experience developing, planning, executing, and evaluating pool related activities for all levels of swimmers
  • Possess the following current Certifications: NLS, Swim Instructor, Life Saving Instructor, and Standard First Aid and CPR "C"

The preferred candidate will also possess one or more of the following Certifications: NLS Instructor, Swim Instructor Trainer, Lifesaving Instructor Trainer, and First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor

Equivalencies recognizing related education and experience may be considered.

The successful applicant must pass a current RCMP issued Enhanced Reliability Screening

The current starting salary is $27.87 per hour (approx. $57,970 per annum) with a Northern Allowance of $6.69 per hour (approx. $13,924 per annum).

MUNICIPAL ENFORCEMENT PEACE OFFICER – PERMANENT FULL-TIME

The successful candidate will be required to:  

  • Possess a two year Law Enforcement Diploma or a minimum of two years municipal law enforcement experience
  • Have a valid unrestricted Driver's License
  • Have both Standard First Aid & CPR Certificates
  • Have experience in domestic animal control
  • Work a 37.5 hour work week including days, nights, on call shifts, and weekends

Preference may be given to persons that:

  • Are certified in the use of RADAR and LIDAR
  • Have Self-defense (PPCT) / OC Training
  • Previous traffic enforcement experience
  • Have a firearms license
  • Have a certificate in EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course)
  • Have experience in prosecuting municipal and territorial matters in court

Short listed applicants will be required to submit a Driver's Abstract and will be subject to a RCMP Issued Enhanced Reliability Clearance.

The current starting salary is $34.52 per hour (approx. $67,314 per annum) with a Northern Allowance of approximately $13,924 per annum.
