The Town of Inuvik is pleased to offer the following opportunity:

Tourism and Events Assistant - Full-time Term Position - May 7, 2018 to October 20, 2018

We are offering $27.52 per hour plus a Northern Allowance of $7.14 per hour.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • be honest, trustworthy and dependable
  • be flexible and demonstrate initiative and sound work ethics
  • be understanding of northern cultural, rural and political environments
  • have a valid Driver's Licence with the ability to obtain a Class 5 NT Driver's Licence

Preference will be given to:

  • those who have a post-secondary degree in Business Administration and/or Tourism Management
  • those with at least two (2) years' experience working in a related industry or setting
  • strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, with a strong proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • those familiar with taking effective meeting minutes/notes and experience preparing reports using statistics, charts and graphs in addition to written content

The Town of Inuvik is looking for energetic, positive and dynamic role models to organize and administer safe, innovative summer programming.

The Town of Inuvik is pleased to offer the following opportunities:

One (1) Senior Program Leader - Summer Term  - June 18, 2018 to August 24, 2018

We are offering $22.90 per hour plus a Northern Allowance of $4.68 per hour.

At least five (5) Program Leaders - Summer Term - June 25, 2018 to August 17, 2018

We are offering $19.47 per hour plus a Northern Allowance of $4.68 per hour.

Community Services will be offering a combination of organized activities as well as playground based programming. The successful candidates will be required to:

  • be respectful and possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • be a creative and dynamic leader
  • be available to work days, evenings and weekends
  • have experience supervising recreational staff (Head Program Leader)
  • possess a current Class 5 NT Driver's Licence (Head Program Leader)

Preference will be given to:

  • those who have previous experience working with children and youth
  • students enrolled in a post-secondary program
  • those who possess current First Aid and CPR Certifications

LABOURERS - CASUAL AND CALL-IN

Competition will remain open indefinitely

The successful candidate will be required to:

. Be honest, trustworthy, and dependable

. Be respectful and possess cultural awareness and sensitivity

. Be flexible and demonstrate initiative and sound work ethics

. Have previous experience in the safe use and handling of various light equipment and power hand tools

. Have a minimum education level of Grade 10

  Preference will be given to those candidates that:

. Have a minimum of three (3) years or more of applicable experience in construction and/or maintenance as well as

  custodial experience

. Have working knowledge of WHMIS

. Have a current First Aid/CPR/AED certification

. Have a valid Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Class 5 NT Driver's License

  Equivalencies recognizing related education and experience may be considered

The successful applicant must pass a current RCMP background check and a vulnerable sectors check as a condition of employment.

The current starting salary is $ 20.87 per hour with a Northern Allowance of $ 4.32 per hour.
