With a two-storey treehouse and attached party room, the MSC Playzone is a popular spot for younger children's parties or to stop in to play on a wet or chilly day. Dropping in is free on demand when the MSC is open, except when the space is rented. Rentals are available by contacting the MSC Front Desk at 867-777-8640.
Recreation Programs
Have fun with programs, activities and events in our community. There is something for all ages and interests! For more information on any of these programs or activities, please contact the Recreation Coordinator at the MSC at 867-777-8636.
From May to August, except during major events, the Dropzone is set up in the MSC. Children and youth of all ages can enjoy a range of activities such as floor hockey, batting practice and table tennis, mini golf and more. The Dropzone offers evening youth programming (a drop in fee applies) and party rentals. For more information, or to book rentals, contact the MSC Front Desk at 867-777-8640.
Summer Programs & Green Shack Program
The Green Shack Program, modelled after Edmonton's successful playground program. Inuvik's Green Shack program offers fun and games for children and youth at our various parks and playgrounds. Monday to Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., summer staff can be found in a variety of locations organizing activities and games. Schedules are posted on the shacks.
Depending on community interests, a variety of programs may be offered weekly through the winter. Yoga is continually popular, and everything from crafts to hula hoops has or can be arranged, for adults as well as children and youth. If you are interested in accessing or leading a particular activity, please contact the Recreation Coordinator at 867-777-8640. Programs are advertised on our website, social media feeds and on posters in the community.
Yoga takes place every Monday at the Midnight Sun Complex.
Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Classes are held in the Community Lounge and cost $8.00 per class.
Aquafit takes place every Thursday and Sunday at the Midnight Sun Complex.
Thursdays from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Sundays (Ladies Night) from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Both classes are held in the Aquatic Centre and cost $8.00 per session.
Boot Camp Fitness starts on September 7, taking place every Tuesday and Thursday evening starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Midnight Sun Complex.
Pre-registration is required due to limited capacity.
Classes are held in the Community Hall and cost $8.00 per session, alternatively a book of 10 passes can be purchased for $60.00. (Expires May 2022).

The Town of Inuvik sponsors and partners with various community events throughout the year, from the Sunrise Festival in January to Canada Day in July. Aboriginal Day on the summer solstice is a big deal here, and is also the day we host the annual Midnight Sun Fun Run, you guessed it, under the Midnight Sun!
