The Town of Inuvik, in collaboration with the Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER), is seeking a motivated and community-focused individual to fill the position of Energy Champion in support of the Energy InSites program. The Energy InSites program is designed to reduce energy consumption and emissions from public and multi-unit residential buildings in Indigenous communities. CIER and The LEAP Group (LEAP) work with partner communities to better understand energy use and improve building performance.

Position: Finance Officer

Annual Salary Range: $77,064.00 - $101,751.00 plus Northern Living Allowance

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
• High school diploma or equivalent, with post-secondary education or training in Accounting, Finance, Business
Administration, or a related field considered an asset.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounts payable, general ledger, or municipal/government finance operations
• Experience using computerized financial systems (e.g., municipal accounting systems) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Familiarity with contribution agreements, invoice verification, and financial documentation requirements
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices
• Capable of performing maintenance tasks thoroughly and accurately, ensuring a safe and functional environment
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
