Taxis
The Municipal Enforcement Peace Officers are responsible for administering and enforcing the Passenger Transportation By-law. The By-law regulates taxis, buses and other passenger transportation vehicles within town.
Taxis
All taxis operating within the Town of Inuvik must be licenced. The driver is required to display his or her Taxi Owner/Operator Permit and the current taxi fare rate sheet.
Taxi fares within the community are specified in the By-law, the current fare rates are available on the Taxi Fare Rate document.

The Town of Inuvik has 2 licensed taxi companies. Both companies are required to have an accessible taxi available for passengers who require mobility aids between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and on a pre-booked basis after hours. The fare rate for an accessible taxi is the same rate as a regular taxi; no additional fees are permitted to be charged for passengers who require the use of mobility aids.
