Boot Lake Trail

Winding through a Spruce and Birch tree forest the Boot Lake Trail is accessible all year round. The well groomed 3km loop is ideal for walking, running, skiing and snowshoeing with a beautiful gazebo lookout. As part of The Great Trail, the Boot Lake Trail offers stunning views of the Mackenzie Delta, Richardson Mountains and the Town of Inuvik. Wildlife also love this trail, keep your eyes open for beavers, rabbits, foxes, and various birds. It's always a good idea to take bear spray, just in case.

There are two trail heads, one at the Boot Lake-Lions Playground just off the Dempster Highway as you enter Inuvik and one at Duck Lake Park near the bank of the East Channel closer to town.
