Water Billing and Rates
Utilities Accounts
New customers must complete a Water and Sewer Account Application Form. A security deposit of $150.00 in the form of cash, cheque or credit card payment is collected by the Town with the application. This deposit will be credited to the account upon closure and any remaining credit returned to the account holder. A customer may also apply to have his or her security deposit credited back to the account 12 months after the date of paying the security deposit. Security deposits may also be transferred to a new account should a customer move to a new address in town, provided there are no outstanding charges.
Utility Rates
Water and sewer utility rates are set by by-law.
Utility Billing, Payment Dates and Interest
The Town processes utility bills each month. Bills are due within 30 days. Utility accounts that remain unpaid after the due date are subject to interest charges at a rate of 1.5% compounded monthly.
Payments can be made in person at the Town Office located on the corner of Firth Street and Kingmingya Road, by cheque, credit card, debit card or through the bank. Customers wishing to set up a monthly payment plan may complete and return the Pre-authorized Payment Plan Application Form - Utilities.
Water and Sewer Rebate Program
As part of its ongoing commitment to community beautification, the Town runs a water and sewer rebate program in the summer months to encourage residents to beautify their properties. This can include things like growing lawns and planting flowers. Residents wishing to apply for the program must complete and return a Water and Sewer Rebate Application Form (Summer Months Only). You can email the form to arutil@inuvik.ca or drop it off at Town Hall to the Accounts Receivable & Utilities Officer.
For more information, please contact the Accounts Receivable/Utilities Officer.
