Community Safety Notice
Our community is grieving the tragic loss of life and the trauma caused by the recent incident. It has also brought renewed attention to the serious harm the illegal drug trade continues to cause in Inuvik.
In response, several meetings have taken place involving the RCMP, local community leaders, indigenous, territorial and municipal governments, health and social services, Inuvik Justice Committee, Housing, school board and other community groups.
The Town of Inuvik on behalf of all parties will be posting information and updates as a consolidated communication channel.
These discussions have resulted in a number of planned community events and public information posts focused on illegal drugs, community safety, available supports and the work being done locally.
The first Town Hall will be held:
Tuesday, September 22, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
