Council will consider a By-law to Amend Zoning By-law 2583/P+D/15 to permit Tiny Home Communities.
This amendment will introduce definitions and regulations for Tiny Homes and Tiny Home Communities.

📑The by-law and supporting documents are available for public inspection at the Inuvik Town Office until 5:00 PM, September 5, 2025.

🏡Project Highlight: NIHTAT Tiny Home Village – Stage 3 🏡

The Nihtat Gwich’in Council (NGC) is moving forward with the third stage of construction for the NIHTAT Tiny Home Village at 66 Franklin Road – a community-focused development providing transitional and emergency housing in the heart of Inuvik.
Features include:
8 Tiny Homes for residents
A central program building serving as a cultural and community gathering space
Training programs and supports to foster connections among clients
Outdoor amenities such as gravel walkways, picnic areas, and green space to encourage interaction

This development is designed to provide a safe, inclusive, and connected environment for residents while strengthening community ties.
